Glen D. Sodders, 66, of Ellsworth died June 17, 2020 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. The family received friends on Monday, June 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth.

Glen was born on January 24, 1954 in Eldora to Clyde and Lucy (Corbin) Sodders. He grew up in Fernald and has lived in Ellsworth for the past 34 years. He married Janna Classon on August 22, 1981. Glen worked as a mechanical insulator at Iowa State University and Eller Insulation Company.

He enjoyed watching sports, NASCAR, cooking, baking, gardening and feeding family and friends. His grandchildren and hanging with his dog, Hoss was very important to him. Glen never knew a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Janna of Ellsworth; his daughter, Krista Traywick of Ankeny; his son, Derek (Megan Lee) Sodders of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Ashlyn Ojoh, Taylor, Chase, Myles and Parker Traywick; his sister, Dorothy (Roger) Bartmess of Manly, IA and two brothers, Chuck (Jean) Sodders of Nevada and Jim (Chris) Sodders of Pleasant Hill; many nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bill (Zona), Dean and John Sodders and two sisters Mary Lee Lowry and an infant sister.

Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral Home in Jewell entrusted with arrangements.
