Timothy Lee Staples, age 56, of Jewell, passed away on March 10, 2019 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the United Church of Christ in Jewell, Pastor Robert Miller and Pastor Gina Spohnheimer officiated.
Born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 19, 1962, Tim was the son of Kenneth and Diane (Daniels) Staples. He attended schools at South Hamilton in Jewell, NESCO, Nevada and Ames.
Tim was married to Sheryll Wertz on April 8, 1989 in Alden, Iowa. He worked for his parents at the family business of Staples Lumber and Ready Mix in Zearing, his uncle Charles at the Mink Plant near Jewell and was a truck driver for many companies, most recently Lakestate Trucking.
Tim enjoyed going on Poker Runs, riding his motorcycle and snowmobile. He loved to spend time with his family, watching television and movies, especially "Ice Road Truckers", "American Pickers" and "Counting Cars".
Tim is survived by his wife, Sheryll of Jewell; daughter Sarah (Atenogenes) Valdivia of Webster City; a sister Tamarra (Kurt) Kulow of Hubbard; two nephews Prescott (Lori) Kulow of West Liberty and Aaron (Melissa) Kulow of Hampton, IL. He is survived by two aunts, one uncle and many first cousins.
Tim is also survived by a step son-in-law, John Brown of Webster City; and a step granddaughter, Aaliyah Brown.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; and a step daughter, Tina Brown.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral Home in Jewell.
