January 2, 2020Melvin Biggs, 93, of Webster City, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at the Paula Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, from 9:45 – 10:45 AM at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com), followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
Melvin was born on February 20, 1926 to William and Ruea Biggs in Homer, IA. He served in the Army during WWII from 1944 – 1946. After returning from the war, he worked as a carpenter for various businesses. Melvin married JoAnn Caquelin on July 31, 1946, in Boone Iowa.
Melvin was a lifelong fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed the many hours spent with the family fishing and reminiscing. He also enjoyed working with wood and created many items for his family. Melvin was a member of the American Legion Post 191.
Melvin’s family includes his wife of 73 years JoAnn; son Ronnie (Kerri) Biggs of Archie, MO; five daughters: Karen (Mike) Biggs of Glendale, AZ, Kathy (Leonard) Moss of Webster City, IA, Deb (Russell) Thede of Reinbeck, IA, Chris Biggs of Glendale, AZ and Connie Biggs of Onalaska, WI; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
