Mother of Mrs. Prescott Dies

Mrs. Kathrina O. Simonson, whose parents were Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Pederson, was born in Alten, Bosekop, West Finmarken, Norway, October 15, 1841, and died at Randall, Iowa, Oct. 10, 1922, lacking 5 days of being 81 years old.

She was confirmed by Rev. Wetlsen, September 19, 1857.

On October 12, 1860, she was united in marriage to Ole Simonson, Rev. C. Roll officiating. To this union eleven children were born of whom four have preceded her in death. Those who live to mourn her departure are: Mrs. Anna Hagen, Shell Rock, Wis.; Simon Simonson, Calumet, Mich.; Mrs. Ca...n Prescott, Popejoy, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Prescott, Roland; Mrs. Louisa Osem of Ames; Carl Simonson, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Elmer Simonson, Seattle, Wash.

Besides her husband and these children she is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

With her husband she came to America and settled at Calumet, Mich., in 1868. In 1878 the family moved to Hamilton county, Iowa, where they made their home on a farm two miles north of Randall, Iowa. Twenty years ago they moved in to Randall, where she spent the last years of her life.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 16, at Elim Lutheran church at Randall, conducted by Rev. G. O. Paulsrud.
