Evelyn M. Barr, 85, of Webster City, died Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2005 at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.

Evelyn Maxine Hammitt, daughter of Ed and Cora Schweppe Hammitt was born on February 21, 1919 at Webster City. She received her education in Webster City, graduating from Lincoln High School. On February 2, 1938, she married Wayne Murray Barr. The couple resided at Webster City. In 1965, the couple moved to Des Moines where she had lived for over 30 years. Mr. Barr died October 30, 1985. She moved to Webster City in 1986.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Judy and Darold McKenna of Hardy, June Boughton of Webster City; son and daughter-in-law, John and Victoria Barr of Northfield, MN.; grandchildren, Jim Jr., Laurie, Leeann, Robert, Mark, Anne Marie, Michelle, Michael and Shanon; 17 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Fern Hammitt of Moline, IL.; sister and brother-in-law, Verla and Marvin Nigg of Crete, NE.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Wayne, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Barr; one son, Jim Barr Sr.; her parents; one brother and one sister.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church.
