Funeral service for Mrs. Hector Butler, 67, longtime Blairsburg area resident, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. James Pittman officiating and with burial at the Blairsburg cemetery.
Mrs. Butler died at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Hamilton County hospital. She had been a resident of Crestview manor since November, 1978.
Mary Helen Cooper, daughter of H.C. and Bessie Nicholson Cooper, was born Nov. 28, 1913 on a farm near Blairsburg. She was reared and educated in that community.
She was married Aug. 17, 1942 to Hector Butler and the couple farmed northwest of Blairsburg.
She is survived by her husband, two sons and one daughter, LeRoy Barton of Woolstock, Steven Butler, Blairsburg and Mrs. Lyle (Carolyn) Hoversten of Williams; seven grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters, Carl Cooper and Paul Cooper, both of Webster City, Mrs. Marian Ferguson, Webster City, Mrs. Louise Pedigo of Clear Lake, Ind., and Mrs. Emil (Margaret) de St. Aubin of Hammond, Ind., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law and one grandson, her parents and two brothers.
She was a member of the Mulberry United Methodist church, the Helping Hand club and the Hamilton County Farm Bureau.
