Adele Boehm Douglas, age 103, formerly of Webster City, died Friday, September 29, 2006 at her daughter's home in Walnut Creek, CA. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Saturday with services at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Webster City. A private burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City later in the day. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

Adele Marie Boehm, daughter of A.J. and Mary (Smith) Boehm, was born June 6, 1903 in State Center, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith by her father the Rev. A.J. Boehm. Her education consisted of parochial grammar school, Ogden High School, Drake University and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On June 19, 1932 she was united in marriage to Robert B. Douglas at Ogden, IA by her father, Rev. A.J. Boehm. For many years the couple lived at numerous locations until 1945, when Mr. Douglas was transferred to Webster City by the Internal Revenue Service. Adele was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Webster City. She taught Sunday School, was a substitute organist, directed the adult choir, served on the music committee and was a member of the Lutheran Women's Mission League.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jerita (the late William) Brokaw of Twin Lakes, IA and Roberta (Robert) Greer of Walnut Creek, CA; three grandsons, one granddaughter; two step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one granddaughter, three brothers and a son-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Music Fund, Lutherans for Life or the Hamilton County Pubic Health and Hospice.
