Imogene Crouthamel, 84, of Webster City, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, with Dr. Gale E. Mack officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Imogene Carpenter, daughter of Walter and Lena Greene Carpenter, was born August 18, 1922 at Moingona, Iowa. She received her education in the Boone school system graduating in 1940. She started employment with Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator at Boone, Fort Madison, San Francisco then returned to Boone. On March 10, 1926 she married Les Crouthamel at the Central Christian Church at Boone. The couple moved to Fort Dodge in 1954 and to Webster City in 1958. She was a homemaker. In 1968, she started working at J.C. Penney's at Webster City. She retired in 1986. The couple continued to reside at Webster City. She had resided at Crestview Senior Living since February of 2006.
Mrs. Crouthamel is survived by her husband, Les; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Pat Loughry; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Alicia Crouthamel; grandsons, Brett and Bart Loughry; Caleb and Seth Crouthamel, all of Webster City. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a Cub Scout leader, delivered Meals on Wheels for 16 years, the Order of Eastern Star, a blood donor for the Donor Network, enjoyed painting, crafts and nature.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the First Baptist Church or Meals on Wheels.
