David W. Thorson, 59, of Webster City, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center at Ames. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Foster Chapel, with Sue Enzian, lay minister, officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post # 191. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center were in charge of arrangements.

David Wallace Thorson, son of Adrian and Muriel Peterson Thorson, was born November 22, 1946 at Fort Dodge. He received his education at Gowrie, graduating in 1965. He served with the U.S. Navy in the Caribbean and Mediterranean areas. On June 7, 1968, he married Donna Jean Hedeen at the First Baptist Church at Fort Dodge. The couple resided at Fort Dodge and he was employed at Iowa Beef. In 1974, they moved to Sioux City, where he continued with Iowa Beef. In 1985, they moved to Webster City and he was employed at Electrolux. He retired in September of 2003.

Dave is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Todd Chambers of Webster City; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lynn Thorson of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Cody, Steffen and Sawyer Chambers; sister, Myrna Cox of Fort Dodge; brothers, Barry Thorson of Chicago, IL; Denny Thorson of Oregon; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Thorson.

He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church at Callendar, U.A.W. Local #442 and American Legion Post #191.
