Marjorie "Pod" Gescheidler, 88, of Webster City, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Van Diest Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Graceland Cemetery with Reverend Craig Blaufuss officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the First Congregational-U.C.C. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is caring for the family.

Marjorie Ruth McKee was born June 3, 1928 at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City, the daughter of Howard and Ruth Tatham McKee. She graduated Lincoln High School in Webster City in 1946 and in 1950 graduated from Drake University. She married Harold Frederick Gescheidler on June 9, 1951. Together they had three children, two daughters and a son, Sue Lynn (Gescheidler)Jaycox, wife of the late Rodney Jaycox of Webster City, Patty Rae Gescheidler of New Providence and Geff Alan Gescheidler of Waukee. She was a very proud grandmother of Kari (Jaycox) Rabe and husband Jeff, Tracy (Jaycox) Bahrenfuss and husband Brandon all of Webster City and Jared Gescheidler and Katie Gescheidler of Ames. She loved her great-grandchildren who made her eyes sparkle every time she saw or talked about them, Kamryn Pruismann and Jackson Rabe, Breanna Bahrenfuss and Jaylyn Bahrenfuss all of Webster City.

She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Ann Stearns, wife of the late Ralph Stearns of Webster City; niece, Anne Stearns Wiebe of Des Moines; nephew, Howard Stearns of Webster City and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her brother-in-law, Ralph Stearns and her son-in-law, Rodney Jaycox.

Pod was a huge sports fan. She followed every sport her son and grandchildren participated in. She loved watching golf and baseball, cheering on her beloved Cubbies! She enjoyed bird watching out of her porch and fishing vacations to Wisconsin with her family when the kids were younger.

She was a member of the First Congregational-U.C.C., Haystack Circle, Chapter EL of P.E.O. A past member of the Webster City Golf Course Ladies Association and several bridge groups comprised of her special friends.
