Susan Elaine Allen, 67, of Blairsburg, died August 25, 2016 at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City. Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, September 3rd at the United Church of Christ in Blairsburg.

Susan Elaine Griep was born September 9th, 1948 in Fort Dodge, daughter of Dorothy Beaver Griep. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School and I.C.C.C. She married Richard Lee Allen on January 29, 1972 at Elk Point, SD. The couple moved to Blairsburg in 1973. She worked at Ida Press and W.C. Custom Meats until her retirement in 2001.

She is survived by her husband Richard Allen of Blairsburg; son, Jeffrey (NaTasha) Allen of Story City; grandchildren Paxton and Olivia Allen.

Susan was preceded in death by her mother in 2003.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Blairsburg. She was part of the W.C. Quilting Group, Moose Lodge and Quilting Sisters. She enjoyed camping, traveling with her husband, Dick. Sue also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. One of Sue's proudest moments was becoming a grandma to Paxton and her "cupcake" Olivia.
