Rosemary Spratt, 74 of Webster City died on Monday, August 22, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, August 27 at Asbury United Methodist Church from 9:00–10:30 AM followed immediately by a funeral service at 10:30 AM in the church. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Rosemary was born on March 20, 1942, in Ringsted, Iowa to Dean & Mary (Robertson) Sherwood. She attended Joice High School and Waldorf College. She married John “Jack” Spratt on April 7, 1962, at Bethany Church in Joice, Iowa.

She and Jack were the owners of D’s Coffee Shop and Kountry Fried Chicken, where she enjoyed serving people and visiting with the many customers. Rosemary was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary and P.E.O. She was also a member of the Asbury Methodist Church and was very involved in Music Ministries. For a number of years, she and Jack were in charge of food preparation for the community Christmas dinner, serving 125-200 people.

Rosemary had a love for people and was always caring for them. She played for the local nursing homes, and Friends Forever. When anyone came to visit she would have their special pie made. Rosemary enjoyed her flowers and shopping (even though she didn’t always buy much, unless she was with Cyndy). She loved to play games with her grandchildren, and would spend many hours on the phone with her granddaughters.

Rosemary’s family includes: her husband; daughter Cyndy (Mike) Guy of S. Elgin, IL; son Allan (friend Debbie) of Lehigh Acres, FL; 3 grandchildren: Alex of Lehigh Acres FL, Mychaela and Savannah Guy of S. Elgin, IL; brother-in-laws Roger (Karen) Spratt of Mesa AZ and Duane (Laurie) Schlitter of College Station, TX; sister-in-laws: Donna Spratt of Greene, IA, Leola Westendorf of Waverly, IA and Myrna Spratt of Lexington, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Harold and his wife Jo; brother-in-laws: Draper, Jim, Howard, George and Will; and sister-in-laws: Judy, Marylyn, and Melita. Memorials will be used for a music scholarship and Gideons International.
