Ernest E. (Gene) Paschke, 88, of Webster City, died Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.

A service honoring Gene's life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Webster City, with the Rev. Mark Eichler officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, July 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Webster City. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Gene is survived by his wife Bonnie; his children, Terri (Steve) Christeson, Boone; Rod (Brenda) Paschke, Webster City; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and his sisters, Marilyn (Don) Lauver, Lake City; and Doris (Don) Sundell, Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Mark.

Ernest Eugene Paschke, the son of Ernest T. and Cordella (Halvorson) Pasche, was born March 4, 1930 in Curry, Minnesota. He was reared and educated in the Webster City, Duncombe and Lehigh areas. He played high school baseball for Lehigh High School, from where he graduated in 1948. On February 24, 1956, Gene was united in marriage to Bonnie Fye at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge and they were married for 62 years. Gene was a lifelong farmer, farming land near Duncombe and also the family farm near Lehigh.

Gene was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Webster City. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching, playing cards, gardening, watching sports on television and all the many family gatherings. He enjoyed helping family with any project and he treasured time spent attending the events of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
