Obituary

Adolph Westman

Adolph Westman, son of Jonas and Gertrude [Persdotter] Westman, was born northeast of Stratford Oct. 4, 1872, and passed away in the general hospital at Jewell, Iowa, Saturday evening, Feb. 12, 1949, at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 8 days.

Death came as a result of several strokes and complications which he had suffered during the past several months and had been bedfast the last six months.

For several years he was engaged in farming on the home place until he retired and moved to town.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Miss Christine Westman and Mrs. Betsy Angstrom. He leaves to mourn his departure, two nephews, Elmer and Leonard Angstrom and their families.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 15, 1949, in the Jackson funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Westerhoff of the Baptist church. The singers were the Rev. and Mrs. Westerhoff and they were accompanied by Mrs. Norman D. Erickson.

Burial was made in the South Marion cemetery, with Fred Samuelson, Elmo Westrum, Oscar F. Erickson, Martin Westrum, Clifford Neese and John Peterson as pallbearers.
