Swanson

Mrs. Anna Sophia Swanson died at her home in Stratford Thursday afternoon, January 21, 1904, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 22 days, after having been a patient sufferer for many years, until finally death came and relieved her.

She was the mother of seven children, four died in Sweden and one daughter, Mrs. Emma Sherman, died in Boone last year. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, two children, August Swanson of Boone and Miss Augusta Swanson of this place, seven grandchildren and a large concourse of friends.

The funeral was held at the Swedish Methodist Church in South Marion Sunday forenoon, conducted by Rev. C.P. Eklund and John Linn and the remains were laid to rest in the Swede Bend Cemetery [South Marion Cemetery]. Mrs. Swanson has been a member in good faith of the Swedish M.E. Church since 1870. Peace to her memory.
