SUDDEN DEATH.

Peter D. Siemsen and old and well known citizen dropped dead about 11 o'clock last Friday. He was at his brother-in-law's, Jurgen Thompsons on an errand and was just ready to start home when he fell forward and immediately expired. Mr. Siemsen was known to all of the old settlers as an honest upright man and his sudden death is regretted by all who knew him.

Peter D. Siemsen was born Dec. 5, 1829 at Linan Province, Schleswig, Germany, he came to this country with his family in 1875 and located in Clinton Co., Iowa where he lived about one year then moved to Hamilton County where he has since resided on his farm 7 1/2 miles south east of Stratford. He leaves 2 children, Peter W. Siemsen who lives on the home farm and Mrs. Annie Hollander who lives in Ida Co.

His wife died about 7 years ago. He was interred in the Olson cemetery, Rev. H. Brandos of the German Lutheran church officiating.

EAST MARION.

The family of Mr. Siemsen has been sorely afflicted, two members of the family having died last week. They have the sympathy of the entire community.
