WHAT'S DOING IN STRATFORD

Peter Peterson Died Sunday

STRATFORD, Iowa, Aug. 4 (Special) — Peter Peterson, who died Sunday, was born in Bollnäs socken, Gävleborgs län, Sweden, Aug. 18, 1853. In 1869 he came with his parents to this country, where they settled in Boone county. July 30, 1879, he was married to Miss Ella Vedeen and in 1881 they moved to Hamilton county, where they had since resided.

To them were born seven sons and two daughters. One son passed away in infancy. Emily died at the age of 15 years and Mabel died three months later at the age of three years. Another son, Eddie, died five years ago. Left to mourn his death are his wife and five sons — Henry, Elmer, Elick, Floyd and John, all of Stratford; four grandchildren and one brother, Elick Peterson, of Ontario, Iowa, besides many other relatives.

Mr. Peterson was one of the oldest members of the South Marion church, which he joined in 1880. He was 73 years, 11 months and three days old. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Stromberg and burial made in South Marion cemetery.

Per Persson (Peter Peterson) was born in Ovanåker parish, Gävleborg, Sweden and moved with his parents to Bollnäs parish at a young age. They resided at Bollnäs until they emigrated in 1869.
