Myrtle Peterson, 86, Stratford, died Jan. 1, 1993 at the Stratford Care Center. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dale Kelley officiating. Burial in South Marion Cemetery, southeast of Stratford. Visitation is from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Stark-Welin Funeral home in Stratford and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

Myrtle Wharton, daughter of Clyde and Emma (Sterner) Wharton was born Aug. 15, 1906 in Stratford.

On May 23, 1947 she married Fabian Peterson at Buffalo Center.

She is survived by sister-in-laws, Rose Wharton of Minneapolis, Minn. and Violet Peterson of Stratford, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.

She was a member of the South Marion Methodist Church. Memorials may be left to the church.
