STRATFORD - Fabian Axel Peterson, 75, a longtime Stratford resident, died at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames Wednesday. He had been a patient there since Feb. 11.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the South Marion United Methodist church with the Rev. Ellis Andrews officiating and with burial in the South Marion cemetery south of Stratford.

Friends may start calling at the Hanson - Stark - Welin funeral home in Stratford Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at which time the casket will be taken to the church.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle, of Stratford; four sisters, Miss Mabel Peterson, Mrs. Edith Carlson and Mrs. Frank E. Johnson, all of Boone, and Mrs. Nettie Stenmark of Litchfield, Minn.; two brothers, the Rev. Elmer R. Peterson of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Joel Peterson of Boone; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Blanche Peterson of San Diego, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

He was born June 3, 1897 in Boone Co., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peterson. On May 23, 1947 he married Myrtle Wharton at Buffalo Center.

He farmed in the Stratford community until his retirement.

He was a member of the South Marion United Methodist church in Stratford.
