Late Boone Man Was Native of Sweden and Went to Denison on His Arrival in U.S.

Funeral services for Peter W. Larson were Tuesday afternoon, January 2, at Schreoder's funeral hoe in charge of the Rev. I. Halleen of the First Evangelical Free Church. He spoke from the text: "But one thing is needful."

Mrs. Melvin Josephson and Mrs. Herman Eckberg with Mrs. Albin Mathson as pianist sang "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" in Swedish and "Abide with Me."

He was laid to rest by the side of his wife in the South Marion Cemetery near Stratford.

Born in Sweden

Peter W. Larson was born in Sweden November 21, 1872, and died December 29, 1944, at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 8 days. He came to America in 1893 and settled first in Denison, Iowa, where he remained for several years, coming to Boone in 1897, where he had since made his home until the time of his death.

March 12, 1903 he was united in marriage to Eva Elfrida Larson. In this union three daughters were born. After 17 years of married life, his wife died June 17, 1920. For the past several years his health had been failing which he had borne with patience and fortitude.

Generous and Kind

He was a most generous friend and neighbor, a kind and loving father in his home, in which he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his three daughters: Edith Larson of Boone, Mrs. Wayne White, Jr., of Waukesha, Wis., and Mrs. Leo Bell, of Fulton, Ill. Also five grandchildren, four sisters and one brother, and many other relatives and friends.
