MISS JOHNSON DEAD AT 87

Miss Lou Johnson, 87, died at 6:15 this morning at the home of her brother, Len Johnson, six miles southwest of Stanhope.

Miss Johnson had been ill for about three months.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Foster's funeral home with the Rev. C.F. Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the South Marion cemetery.

Miss Johnson is survived by her brother and two nieces, Mrs. Norman Madson of Britt and Mrs. George Darry of Wayne, Neb.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and active in church work. An obituary will be published later.

RITES TUESDAY IN THIS CITY

Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Foster funeral home for Miss Lou Johnson, 87, who died Saturday morning at the home of her brother, Len Johnson, four and one-half miles southeast of Stratford.

The Rev. C.F. Schmidt of Stanhope will officiate with burial in the South Marion cemetery.

Louisa Johnson, daughter of Charles and Sophie [Gustafson] Johnson, was born Nov. 18, 1859 at Moline, Ill. When a young girl, she moved with her parents to Iowa, locating on a farm near Stanhope. The family had always made its home since in that section of the county.

Miss Johnson is preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and one brother. She is survived by the one brother, Len, two nieces and one nephew, Mrs. George Derry of Wayne, Neb., Mrs. Norman Madson of Britt and Clifford Ristrim of Stratford.

Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, Miss Johnson was active in church work. She was known as an excellent seamstress and a kind and friendly neighbor.
