Tom Severson, 68, of Joice, IA, died peacefully Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his daughter's home in Webster City, IA.

Memorial service will be 11 AM Friday, September 23, 2016 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Joice, IA with Pastor Bill Peters officiating.

His family will meet and greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Graveside service will take place 4 PM Friday afternoon at the Washington Lutheran Cemetery (3107 250th Street) in Duncombe, IA, all are welcome. Military Rites by American Legion Post #191.

His family suggests that memorials be sent to Bethany Lutheran Church, Window Fund, 201 Franke Street, Joice IA 50446.

Thomas Gene (Tom) Severson was born on February 6, 1948 at Duncombe, IA, the son of Martin Engel and Minnie Inger (Olson) Severson.

He graduated from Webster City High School Class of 1966. He was in the National Guard. And was a dedicated employee of Northwestern Bell, US West, Qwest and FSH Telephone Companies for 36 years.

Tom married Cheryl Sue Abrahamsen and together had three lovely daughters, Jennifer, Laura and Carrie.

On August 1, 1992 he was united in marriage to Audrey Fay (Nelson) Peik at Edgewater Park in Albert Lea, MN by Pastor Fricke.

Tom's joy was taking care of his beautiful acreage. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and wintering in Gulf Shores, AL with Audrey.

Tom's three girls and their families were his pride and joy!

Tom is survived by his loving wife Audrey of Joice, IA; daughters Jennifer (Brian) Van Langen of Blairsburg, IA; Laura (Jeromy) Estlund of Webster City, IA; Carrie (Jeff) Shepard of Gypsum, CO; step daughter Valerie (Steve) Mooney of St. Paul, MN; his grandchildren Brandon and Bryce Van Langen, Lydia, Evan, Luke and Eli Estlund, Omie Shepard and future granddaughter Shepard, Andrew and Ella Mooney.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother in infancy, another sister Elaine Severson Smoke and one brother Wayne Severson, and step son Daniel Christopher Peik.
