Margie Ray Zehner, 68, of Webster City, IA, died Thursday, June 30th, 2016 in a Des Moines hospital. Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) is caring for the family. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 6th at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Kroona officiating. A visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, July 5th at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Margie was born April 24th, 1948 to Arthur & Pearl (Clausen) Heidick in Webster City, IA. They lived in rural Duncombe until 9th grade when they moved to Webster City. She graduated from Webster City High School and from beauty school in Fort Dodge.

On Saturday, April 18, 1970 she and Donald Frederick Zehner were united in marriage at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City. Don was enlisted in the Air Force and shortly after the wedding he spent a year in Vietnam. The couple moved from Lancaster, CA to Webster City in 1973 where Margie worked in her sister's beauty shop. She was an instructor at the beauty school in Fort Dodge from 1984 to 1991. She operated her own shop from 1998 until her open heart surgery in 2009.

Margie was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and was very faithful with Wednesday night services. Margie enjoyed going to Bingo with friends. Don has many treasured memories with her at the Brushy House and their years together. The couple loved camping, their grandchildren and traveling to see new things.

Her family includes her husband Don of 46 years; son Chip (Kristin) Zehner and their children Emersyn and Rowan, all of Boone; sister Sue (John) McCormic of Rock Island, IL; sister-in-law June Kay Zehner of Tamaqua, PA and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents.
