Obituary

Mrs. Betsy Hanson, who resided at Stanhope for the past 14 years, died Sunday at 10:45 a.m. She was born in Sogndal, Norway, and came to this country in 1869. She was 75 years, 10 months, 6 days old at her death. She was married to Olof Hanson in Boonsboro, Oct. 28, 1876, who with 7 children and nineteen grandchildren survive. There are also two sisters, Mrs. E.E. Foss, Clark, S.D. and Mrs. Karen Boe living in Norway, three brothers, Andrew C. Hove, Sioux Falls, S.D., Espen Hove, Stevenson, Wash., Andie Hove, McKee, Oregon. The sons are: Henry W., Joel A., Dave C., of Hamilton county, Frank L., Colorado Springs, Colo., Gust E., Watertown, S.D., Andie R., Saginaw, Mich., and one daughter, Mrs. A.G. Newman, Stanhope. She was a member of the South Marion M.E. church for the past forty-five years. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the M.E. church at Stanhope, Rev. Hammer officiating. The six sons acted as pall bearers and interment was made in the South Marion cemetery.
