Another Pioneer Settler Passes Away

Anna Hanson was born in Jaderbo, Ovansjö, Gävleborg, Sweden, on February 6, 1813 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Olson, January 23, 1901, at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 19 days.

She was married in Sweden to Eric Hanson in 1842 and with her husband came to America in 1855, locating at Kewanee, Ill. Then they moved to Marion township, Hamilton county, Iowa in 1865, where she lived until the death of her husband in 1871. After his death she lived with her son, George, and also with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Olson. George died four years ago, and since that time she has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Olson. Six children, three boys and three girls, were born to them. Two children have preceded her to the great beyond. Two sons and two daughters are left to mourn her death, also seventeen grand-children and one great grand-child.

About a year ago she suffered a slight paralytic stroke and has since that time been as helpless as a child. A week ago she was taken worse and she passed away as quietly as if she was but asleep. The funeral was held from the house Friday, Rev. Hemborg officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Olson cemetery.
