CARLSON

Ingra Marie Johnson was born at Hjortberga, Sweden, the 27th of April, 1843, and died at her home in Stratford, March 18, 1913, lacking therefore forty days of being the full 70 years of age. She was married to Christian Carlson, October 21, 1866, and on the 10th of June, 1869, they arrived in Hamilton county, Iowa, at their farm home east of Stratford, where they resided until the 27th day of May, 1903, when they moved to their home in Stratford.

Mrs. Carlson was the mother of seven children - three sons and four daughters - who are all living and who were all present to pay their last loving respects to a good mother whom they revered and loved. Charles, August, Emma, Clara, Tilda, Theodore and Anna, with twenty grandchildren, join with their father in calling her blessed. To them is given the richest of legacies, a Godly consistent christian mother and grandmother.

Brought up in the Lutheran church, Mrs. Carlson and her husband were confirmed in its faith. Attending some Free Mission services at East Marion nearly forty years ago, she experienced a change of heart, and united with that church of which she has continued a member until her Lord called her to the Church Triumphant.

The funeral services were held at the residence and at the M.E. church Thursday afternoon, Rev. H. Albertson paying a beautiful tribute to the memory of the deceased. The church was filled with relatives and friends of the departed one and the casket was nearly buried with floral emblems from relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest in the South Marion cemetery.
