Services held for Mrs. Ethel Palmer, 77

Mrs. Ethel H. Palmer, 77, passed away August 15, 1963 at St. Joseph's Hospital at Lewiston, Idaho, where she had been a patient for eight days, following a hip fracture.

She was born October 6, 1886, at Kasson, Minnesota, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Houghton. She was married in 1909 at Kasson to Arthur Bjustrom, who was engaged in farming and real estate. They farmed for several years in the Stratford community.

Following his death fifteen years later, in 1924, she visited with her parents at Cleveland, Ohio for several months. Then she came West with her children and taught school in Glendive, Winifred, Suffolk, Christina and Roy Brooks, Montana for twelve years. She then retired and made her home with her son, Fred Bjustrom at Kellogg.

She was married at Ellensburg, Washington, October 6, 1949, to Matt Palmer, an Ellensburg carpenter, and lived there until his death in 1959.

She lived with her daughter, Mrs. Vernon Lattice Kremlick at Walla Walla, Washington for a year or two after that, and then made her home at Lewiston, Orchards, with her son, Fred.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and belonged to various church groups.

Surviving besides the son and daughters, another son, James A. Bjustrom of St. Paul, Minnesota, 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Lewiston, with The Little Chapel of Flowers in charge.

Rev. Marden Williams conducted the funeral services at the South Marion Methodist Church near Stratford, Iowa, August 21, with Hanson Funeral Home in charge, and burial at the South Marion Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Kenneth Carlson, Clifton Bjustrom, Cecil Bjustrom, Lawrence Bjustrom, Lawrence Larson and Wilhelm Carlson.

Eldean Erickson, accompanied by Mrs. Severt Crim, sang "God Will Take Care of You" and "Nearer My God To Thee." Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Swedlund were in charge of flowers.
