Obituary

Berggren

Johanna Mathilda Johanson (Berggren) was born in Stora Måla, Myresjö socken, Jönköpings Län, Sweden, in 1840. She came to America in 1869 and the same year was united in marriage to S.J. Berggren. For a time they made their home at Hook's Point and later moved to Stratford, residing a short distance west of Stratford, where she resided until her death, which occurred Tuesday forenoon, April 2, 1913. Her husband preceded her to the better land November 30, 1910. Deceased was 73 years of age.

The funeral services were held at the Lutheran church Friday afternoon, of which church she had been a devoted member ever since coming to Stratford. Rev. N.E. Kron conducted the services and paid a beautiful tribute to the memory of the departed one. A large crowd was present to pay their last respects to their departed friend. The remains were laid to rest beside her husband in the South Marion Cemetery. One brother, C.J. Carlstedt of Stratford, and one sister in Sweden, besides other relatives and a host of friends are left to mourn her departure.

Card of Thanks

To the many friends who so kindly assisted us during the illness and the death of my beloved sister, I wish to express my heartfelt thanks. Also for the many beautiful floral offerings.
- C.J. Carlstedt and family.
