ANDREWS

Mrs. Peter Andrews passed away at her home in Stratford Friday morning, May 29th, at the ripe old age of 80 years, 8 months and 1 day. Caroline Christina Carlson, her maiden name, was born in Torpe socken, Östergötland, Sweden, September 28, 1833. She was united in marriage to Peter Andrews in May, 1854. To this union were born eleven children - six sons and five daughters — her husband, five sons and one daughter having preceded her to the better land. Mrs. Andrews came to America with her husband in 1854 and settled in Buffalo, N.Y. In 1866 they moved west and settled in Webster county, where they lived four years, and in 1871, they bought a home in Hamilton county, where they resided until 1894, when they moved from the farm to Stratford, where they resided until their death. She was converted in 1856, and truly loyal, and steadfast she clung to her Master and for 55 long years she has been ready to meet her loving Jesus. The last three weeks of her life she suffered, greatly, but bore her sufferings with the patience of a martyr. She was a kind and devoted wife and mother and a sincere christian. She leaves to mourn her departure one son, four daughters, one brother, one sister and other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral services wore held at the residence and the M.E. church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. Albertson, and a large crowd of friends were present to pay a parting tribute to the departed friend. The remains were laid to rest in the South Marion cemetery.
