Jean Bettis, 85, of Webster City, died Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Windsor Manor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Asbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Flagg officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Erma Jean Kelly was born July 31, 1931 in Lineville, IA, the daughter of James and Lucy Nichol Kelly. She graduated from Lineville High School. She married Ardys Amos Bettis on April 1, 1950 at Lineville. She moved to Webster City in 1949. She worked at Peoples Natural Gas for 34 years and helped at Bettis Appliance. She retired in 2010.

She is survived by her husband Ardys of Webster City; children, Vicky (Steve) Flaws of Ames, Gary (Karen) Bettis of Webster City, Cynthia Bettis of Webster City; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, J.D. Kelly of Webster City and many extended family.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ervin Kelly; sisters, Evalee McKee, Viola Smith; granddaughter, Angela Cartwright and grandson, Josh Adams.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, various women’s business clubs and circles. Jean was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and cherished spending time with her family.
