Ardys “Ardy” Bettis, 91, of Webster city, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Asbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Flagg officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Ardys Amos Bettis, son of Eddie Elston and Maude Elizabeth Kelly Bettis, was born July 28, 1927, the youngest of four, at the family home in rural Wayne County, IA. He graduated from Clio Public High school. On a rainy, April 1, 1950 he married the love of his life, Erma Jean Kelly in Princeton, MO. The couple resided in Webster City all their lives.

He is survived by his son Gary Bettis and daughter-in-law, Karen of Webster City; daughter, Vicky Flaws and son-in-law, Steve of Urbandale; daughter, Cynthia Bettis of Webster City; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many extended family.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray Bettis, sisters, Floy Brown, Willa McGhee; grandchildren, Angela Cartwright and Joshua Adams.
