Richard Dykstra, 66, Stanhope and formerly of Webster City, died at Boone County Hospital in Boone on January 16, 1999. The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone with Rev. Herbert Foxworthy officiating. Friends may call at the memorial chapel from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial of his cremains will be in Lovilia, IA at a later date.

He was born in Monroe County on Oct. 3, 1932, the son of Albert and Wanda Grimes Dykstra. He grew up in the Jewell and Webster City areas, moving back to Sioux City in 1967. He moved back to Webster City in 1971 and then to Boone in 1978. He had lived in Stanhope the past four years. He was self-employed as an over the road trucker. He was forced to retire seven years ago due to ill health.

Survivors are his two sons, Jody Kyle Dykstra of Boone and Terry Dykstra of Jewell; a daughter, Kim Reno of Palm Beach Gardens, FL., a brother Bill Dykstra, Deleon, TX., two sisters, Beulah Williams of Waupaca, WI., and Margaret Hrubesky of Menasha, WI; two granddaughters, one step granddaughter and one step great-granddaughter.
