WOOLSTOCK — Ellen Marie (House) Caquelin, the daughter of Jerry and Rose (Merritt) House, was born on July 28, 1920, in Jewell, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Jewell and Webster City.

On May 20, 1939, Ellen was united in marriage with Maynard Caquelin in Minnesota. The couple farmed in the Blairsburg and Woolstock area and they were blessed with four sons to help on the farm. Maynard and Ellen retired from farming in 1983 and moved to Woolstock. Maynard preceded her in death on April 10, 1998.

Ellen enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, gambling, and bowling.
Ellen was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Woolstock and Eagle Grove, KYN Club and Senior Citizens in Woolstock.
Ellen passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City at the age of 98 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Richard (Dick) and Russell (Rusty) Caquelin; grandsons, Henry, Jeff and Greg Caquelin; sisters, Ione Gramblin and Avon Hoops and brother, Pete House.

Survivors include her sons, Gary Caquelin (Norma) of Fairmont, MN and Mike Caquelin of Rifle, CO; daughters-in-law, Connie Caquelin of Woolstock and RaeNae Caquelin of Manson; 11 grandchildren: Dale Caquelin (Donna), Brian Caquelin, David Caquelin (Tonya), Gary Caquelin (Melissa), Mindy Sassman (Kim), Tracy Johnson, Myra Choate (Dave), Angela Caquelin, Jennifer Caquelin, Lacey Cheeseman (Ryan) and Alexis Caquelin; 24 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove – New Location. Burial will be in French Church Cemetery, Woolstock.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
