WEBSTER CITY — Mildred Elm, 99, of Webster City, died, Wednesday, May 8, 2019, in Webster City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastors Mike Kroona and Gina Sterk, officiating. Burial will be at Washington Lutheran Cemetery south of Duncombe. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Mildred Marion Mulnix, daughter of Ira and Zazel Young Mulnix, was born January 29, 1920, in Byron, MN. She attended a rural school at Douglas, MN and high school at Rochester, MN. She married Merle Gorman at Fort Dodge in 1937. The couple later divorced. She married John Elm on January 31, 1948, in Des Moines. The couple farmed in Webster and Hamilton Counties. They retired to Webster City in 1982. Mildred was employed many years at Morton Frozen Foods and Williams Drug Store.
She is survived by her son, Jerry (Michelle) Gorman of Raymore, MO; daughters-in-law, Jonette Gunderson of Webster City and Janice Elm of Toddville; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther Dupey Sickman and Ella Davis, both of Fort Dodge; Marlene Eastland of St. Paul, MN and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1994; sons, Jimmy and Don Gorman; step-son, Jerry Elm; sisters, Ethel Marie and Helen Mulnix; and brother, Andrew Mulnix.
Mildred was a member of the 500 card club, Harmony Club in Williams, American Legion Auxillary and the Rebekah’s Circle at Trinity Lutheran Church.
