Jason Sweazey, 6-year-old son of John and Amanda Sweazey of Duncombe, died Monday, July 10, 2000 of an apparent drowning near Duncombe. Funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Pastor John Hembry officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Jason John Sweazey was born May 25, 1994 at Fort Dodge. He attended preschool at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Preschool in Webster City. He was an active AWANA member of the Evangelical Free Church of Fort Dodge. He was also a member of the Duncombe Demons T-Ball Team.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Stephanie Wakeman and Nicole Sweazey, brother Joseph Wakeman; paternal grandparents Edwin and Mary Sweazey of Blairsburg, maternal grandparents Don and Linda Wakeman of Duncombe, paternal great-grandparent Viola Sweazey of Duncombe, maternal great-grandparents, Evelyn Wakeman of Fort Dodge and Jerry and Betty Dahl of Dayton.
