Duane Wagner, 65, Clarion, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000 at the Clarion Health Care Center in Clarion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Clarion with Rev. David Beckman, celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Webster City. A Rosary will be held at 6:45 p.m. and a scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Sunday and at the church after 9 a.m. Monday.
Duane John Wagner, son of Arthur and Catherine Bauman Wagner, was born August 18, 1934 at Aurora, Ill. He moved to the Webster City area in 1940. In 1952, he graduated from Webster City High School. He also attended Webster City Junior College for two years. He started farming north of Highview. On Sept. 5, 1964 he married Miriam Johnson at Fort Dodge. He farmed south of Clarion since 1964. He had resided at the Clarion Health Care Center since November of 1999.
Survivors are his wife, Miriam; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Pam Wagner, Webster City; daughter, Rachel Lynn of Clarion, grandchildren, Danielle, Breanne and Bradley Wagner, Alex Sporaa and Angela Lynn, sister Carol Wells of Webster City; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Milton and Ralph Wagner.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
