Esther Curran, 86, Webster City, died Sunday, March 19, 2000 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational Church with Rev. James Buffington officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Esther Marie Louise Christensen, daughter of Samuel and Christine Christensen Christensen, was born May 16, 1913 at Jewell. She received her education at Jewell. On August 14, 1921 she married Thurber Freeborn Curran at St. Louis, MO., The couple resided in the Blairsburg area, then moved to Webster City. She was a homemaker.

Survivors are her husband, Thurber, daughter Jennifer Jean Jefferson of Bells, TX., daughter-in-law, Gloria Curran of Ames, grandchildren, Shea Jefferson, Daniel Riggs, Stephanie Redderson and Matthew Curran, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Curran, son-in-law, David Calvert, her parents, sisters, Millie McKay, Jennie Johnson, Anna Wehrheim, Thora Furman, brothers, Oscar, Arthur, Thorvald, Harold, Viggo and Einer Christensen.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church, American Legion Auxiliary, a Hamilton Hospital volunteer and church circles.
