Betty Van Hook, 74, a former Webster City resident, died Thursday, March 9, 2000 in Mesa, AZ. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Webster City.

Betty Ann Van Hook, daughter of Virgil Brown and Grace Baker, was born Oct.. 26, 1925 in Dows. She attended Webster City High School, graduating in 1943. She worked in the Hamilton County offices of the auditor, treasurer and clerk of court. She also served as secretary to a state senator in the Iowa Legislature. On Sept. 4, 1976 she married Myron Van Hook in Webster City. In 1987, they moved to Fountain of the Sun where they have resided at 733 S. 80th St., Mesa, AZ 85208.

Survivors are her husband; her son, Lynn Pringle of Coralville; daughter, Becki Fraser of Placerville, CA.; two step-children, Rodney Van Hook and Rhonda Newton, both of Scottsdale, AZ., and nine grandchildren.
