Morris E. Brown, 81, of Woolstock died Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 8:30 a.m. at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines where he had been a patient for the past few days.

Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Foster Funeral home with Dr. Charles Smith officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today (Wednesday, Sept. 20) at Foster Funeral Home.

Morris Everett Brown, the son of George Morris and Nellie Kastler Brown, was born March 26, 1908 on a farm northeast of Webster City.

He was reared and educated in that area and attended Sunnyside School.

On Dec. 12, 1933 he married Frances Ernst at Albert Lea, Minn. The couple farmed in the Blairsburg and Mulberry Center areas.

In 1962, they moved to Woolstock, where Mr. Brown was employed by Jones Implement Co. He retired in 1979, and the couple continued to reside in Woolstock.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Ruth (Mrs. Robert) Verbrugge of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; one son, Robert Brown of Webster City; three grandchildren, Mindy Brown of Dubuque, Mike Brown, a student at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and Marsha Verbrugge of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; four sisters, Audrey Brown of Webster City, Lois Zimmerman of Des Moines, Mildred VanSickle of Jewell and Nellie (Mrs. Virgil) Bryan of Webster City; three brothers, Elston (Bill) Brown, Melvin (Harry) Brown and George (Don) Brown, all of Webster City, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister (who died in infancy).

He was a member of Mulberry Center Church and belonged to the Senior Citizens Club of Woolstock.
