William R. Dagit, 84, Williams, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000 at the Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls. Funeral services were held Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Williams with Rev. Darwin Moore officiating. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery in Williams. Surls Funeral Home of Williams is in charge of arrangements.

William R. Dagit, the son of Raymond and Alma Arnold Dagit, was born March 3, 1915 at Jefferson. He attended Paton-Churdan School. He married Caroline Irene Duden on June 1, 1938. He was a farmer and was involved with 4-H, Big 4 Chickasaw Co. Fair at Nashua and was Chickasaw County Farm Family of the Year.

Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Gary Roths of Dublin, OH., Jane and John Buxton of Spearfish, SD., a son and daughter-in-law, James and Karen Dagit of New Hampton, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; seven sisters, Edith Nerland, Williams, Leona Norton of Seattle, WA., Avis Schorer, Bloomington, MN., Alice Keane, Williams, Phyllis Olson, Ellsworth, Elsie Miller, LaGrange, IL and Mary Lapp of Marietta, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Caroline, three brothers Arnold, Dorian and Lowell Dagit.
