Mae Conkling, 85, Webster City, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999 at Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday at Foster Funeral Home.

Mae Myrtle Fye, daughter of Frank Delbert and Alda Bailey Fye, was born Nov. 21, 1913 in Lehigh. On Sept. 24, 1946, she married Harville Conkling in Fort Dodge. Prior to her marriage she was employed at Selby's Egg Products and later Brown's Café and the Gold Room Café. In the early 60's, she began working as a nurses aid at the Hillcrest nursing home until its closing and then worked for Golden Age nursing home for more than 10 years, retiring in 1975.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Pam Conkling of Webster City, daughter and son-in-law, Bernadine and Bob McBurney of Flagstaff, AZ., two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Gene Paschke, Webster City, Delphane and Jack Stewart of Mesa, AZ., a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Kay Fye of Duncombe, seven grandchildren, Mel Jondal and Melissa Taylor, Webster City, Mary Jo Timmons, Buffalo Center, Mike Tempel, Kamrar, Teresa Micciche, Michelle Carson of Virginia, Steve McBurney, Texas.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Doris Dugan, Louise Fye and Freda Purdew, four brothers, Jim, Claris, Frank and Harry Fye.
