David Daniels, 95, a longtime Duncombe area farmer, died Sunday, Aug. 4 at the Hamilton County Public Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. S. Willard Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Township Cemetery in Duncombe. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 5 p.m. on Wednesday until the time of the service.

David Dryden Daniels, son of David and Mary Isham Daniels, was born May 27, 1901 on a farm southwest of Duncombe. He attended Tobins Business College in Fort Dodge, then started farming southwest of Duncombe.

On August 19, 1924 he married Helen Brown in Webster City. The couple farmed in Duncombe and he retired in 1973.

Daniels is survived by his wife Helen; daughters and sons-in-law, Elinor Swanson of Tucson, Ariz., Ann and Charles Edgar of Atlanta, Janis and Harley Groves of Webster City; a son Irvin Daniels of Duncombe; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Eva Rhodes of Fort Dodge; Cecile Brown of Webster City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, John David Daniels in 1941; a great-granddaughter; his parents and two brothers, Edwin and Eugene Daniels.

He was a member of the Duncombe United Methodist Church and the NEW Cooperative in Duncombe.
