Funeral services for Mrs. Ronald (Patricia) Scates, 32, a former Blairsburg resident, who died Tuesday at her home in San Diego, Calif., will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ, Congregational at Blairsburg. The Rev. Robert Newburg will officiate and burial will be in the Blairsburg cemetery.

The body will lie in state from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Foster Funeral home.

Mrs. Scates had been in ill health the past two years.

Patricia Anne Holt, daughter of Clarence and Agnes Jansen Holt, was born Sept. 3, 1947 at Webster City, and was reared and educated at Blairsburg. She later attended the University of Iowa and the American Institute of Commerce at Davenport.

On Oct. 3, 1975 she was married to Ronald Scates at Colorado Springs, Colo. The couple continued to live in Colorado Springs until moving to San Diego two years ago. She had been employed as a trust officer at the San Diego Trust and Savings bank.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald; her mother, Mrs. George (Agnes) Jenison [obituary says Jansen but that is her maiden name and Jenison is her second husband] of Belmond; one sister, Mrs. Dennie (Pamela) Doolittle of Ellsworth, and one brother, Michael Holt of Iowa Falls.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She was a former member of the UCC, Congregational church at Blairsburg.
