Howard E. Richardson, 80, Story City, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be Friday at Grace United Methodist Church, 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Don Preston officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Webster City at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be from after 3 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home.

Howard Richardson was born Jan. 24, 1919, the son of Theo and Goldie Urich Richardson. He graduated in 1939 from Blairsburg High School. He married Arris Brown on June 30, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They resided at Webster City. In 1959, they moved to Story City. He was a farmer and bred Shetland ponies. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Oddfellows-3rd degree, American Shetland Pony Club, Midwest Classic Shetland Breeders and Area 6 Pony Club.

Survivors are his wife, Arris, daughters Donna Norcross of Roland and Shirley Moore of Amarillo, TX., son Brian of Story City; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers Gale and Wilbur Richardson of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
