Marvin Kleckner, 78, Webster City, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999 at his home. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Graceland Cemetery with Rev. William Kem officiating. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.

Marvin Gerald Kleckner, son of Irvin and Nellie Whiteman Kleckner, was born Oct. 20, 1920 at Webster City. He attended Webster City Schools. He started employment with Fairmont's of Webster City. From 1941-45, he served with the United States Air Force as a cook and also in the military police in the European Theater of action. On Dec. 25, 1947 he married Mavis Dingman in Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City and he worked at Beams (Frigidaire) and Beams (Vacuum) and retired from Arrow-Acme.

Survivors are his wife, Mavis, sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Holly Kleckner and Ross Kleckner, all of Webster City, Darrell and Amy Kleckner of Altoona, Ron and Linda Kleckner of Spencer, eight grandchildren, brothers, Van Kleckner, Oregon, Richard Spitler of Webster City, sisters Sharon Anderson, Webster City, Audrey Weldon, Gilmore City, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Jeremy Kleckner.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Webster City.
