Darlene Allen, 75, Webster City, died Thursday, August 19, 1999 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Pastor David Beals and Earl Mechaelsen officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery, north of Webster City.

Leora Darlene Capsel, daughter of Earl and Ethel Loux Capsel, was born August 17, 1924 on a farm south of Clarion. At the age of 9, her family moved to Eagle Grove where she received her education. In June of 1944, she married Ray Frederick Allen at Clarion. The couple resided at Rock Island, IL until 1946 when they moved to Eagle Grove. The couple moved to Webster City in 1956 and operated Ray Allen Radiator Shop. Mr. Allen died March 2, 1996. She continued to reside in Webster City.

Survivors are her daughters and son-in-law, Nancy DeCoursey, Otho, Becky and Steve Elliott, Webster City, grandchildren, Teresa Huffman, Paul DeCoursey, Shannon Schroeder, Chase Elliott, great-grandchildren, Dylan Huffman, Brennan DeCoursey, Lydia Schroeder; sisters, Aletha White of Tampa, FL., Delores Griffith and Peggy Turner, both of Webster City, Betty Willard of Thor, Shirley Jans of Kamrar, Evelyn Chelesvig of Eagle Grove, Judy Berg of South St. Paul, MN, brothers, Jack Capsel of Louisville, KY and Chuck Capsel, Webster City, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
