Nancy Bell, 90, Stratford, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral home on Friday from 5-9 p.m. and at the church from 11 a.m. to the service time.

Nancy Agnes Irving, daughter of William and Jessie Henderson Irving, was born on July 24, 1908 on a farm southwest of Webster City. She attended rural schools, Webster City high school and graduated from Blairsburg High School. She received her teaching certificate from Cedar Falls and taught in rural schools in the Blairsburg and Webster City areas. On April 3, 1936, she married Harley Clair Bell at Blairsburg. The couple farmed in the Homer area for 33 years, then moved to the Bell family farm near Homer. She was a homemaker and also assisted in the farming operation. Mr. Bell died May 25, 1985. She continued to manage the family farm.

Survivors are daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Jim McNeal, Carmel, NY, Jana and Bob Schuelke of Port Perry, Ontario, Canada, Jean and Harold Dickson of Germantown, TN., seven grandchildren, four great-granddaughters, two nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Joan Peetz.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, and was a Webster County 4-H Leader for 25 years and past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star.
