Madge Shanks, 76, Iowa Falls, formerly of Williams, died Thursday, June 17, 1999 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held Monday at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with Rev. Darwin Moore officiating. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery.

Madge Shanks was born Jan. 27, 1923 in Great Bend, KS, the daughter of Joseph and Maime Lehr Shanks. She was a graduate of the Williams High School Class of 1943 and worked as a housecleaner. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

There are no surviving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents.
