Lois M. Monson, 77, Webster City, died Wednesday at Israel Hospice House, Ames. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City with Pastor Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral Home and after 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Lois Marcella Foote, daughter of Leslie and Jennie Dekok Foote, was born April 14, 1922 at Bigelow, MN. She graduated from high school at Brewster, MN., and attended a business college in Minneapolis. On July 1, 1940 she married LuVerne Monson at Sibley, IA. The couple farmed near Brewster, then moved to Iowa, farming in Boone and Hamilton Counties. In 1959, they moved to Webster City. She was employed at Morton Frozen Foods as a supervisor for 10 years and as a secretary at Kueens Trailer Ranch for 18 years, retiring in 1987. The couple wintered in Mesa for several years.

Survivors are her husband, LuVerne; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Nanice Monson of Nevada, granddaughters, Kathy Ayers, Renee Hunzelman and Julie Green; six great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; brother, Dale Foote of Clarissa, MN., several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Bennett Green, and a brother, Wyman Foote.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and the Holiday Rambler Traveling Club.
