Jessie Mullins, 89, Webster City, died Sunday, May 16, 1999 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Marshall Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and after 12 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Jessie Galatta [have also seen it typed Galatea] Entriken, daughter of Franklin and Ella Cummings Entriken, was born Sept. 8, 1909 at Webster City. She was educated in Webster City Schools, graduating in 1927. On Feb. 26, 1928 she married George Willford Smith at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City where Mr. Smith was a contractor. She was employed at Hahne Printing as a clerk for 24 years. Mr. Smith died on Dec. 3, 1961. On April 23, 1967 she married Cecil Eugene Mullins at Albert Lea, MN. The couple resided in Webster City where Mr. Mullins worked as a barber. He died on May 17, 1975. She retired in 1980. She moved to the Crestview Apartments in 1992 and to Prairieview Apartments in December of 1998.

Survivors are a son and daughters-in-law, Donald and Beverly Smith of Clarion, Joanne Smith of Fort Dodge; step-daughters, Charlotte Brott, Grand Rapids, MI.; Betty Johnson of Stanhope, Pat Grable, Corona, CA., Marilyn Timm, Webster City; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, 14 step-grandchildren, 36 step-great-grandchildren, several great-great-step-grandchildren, a brother, Harold Entriken of Webster City, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Merlyn Smith in 1983, her parents, a brother William Entriken, sisters Bessie Lappin, Caro Montandon Bickford and Laura Lappin.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cradle Roll chairperson, 50 year member of the Sharon Chapter of the Eastern Star, past president of Webster City Senior Citizens Club, and a member of RSVP.
